Ingredients

For the Sloppy Joes
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably 80/20 for flavor
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp mustard yellow or Dijon
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
For Serving
  • 4 buns burger buns toasted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 1 cup pickles sliced, optional

Method

Cook the Beef

Add Vegetables and Seasoning
  1. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Prepare the Buns
  1. While the mixture simmers, toast the burger buns on a toaster or grill until golden brown.
Assemble and Serve
  1. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  2. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and pickles if desired, then place the top half of the bun on each.
  3. Serve immediately and enjoy!
