Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Prepare Dry Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Cream Butter and Sugars
  1. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla
  1. Beat in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Add Chocolate Chips
  1. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Chill Dough
  1. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
Preheat Oven
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake Cookies
  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
