Method
Cooking the Sausage
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
Cooking the Orzo and Broccoli
- In the same skillet, add the chicken broth, orzo, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the broccoli florets and the cooked sausage. Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the orzo is tender and the broccoli is bright green.
Serving
- Remove from heat and let sit for a few minutes before serving. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve warm and enjoy your one-pan meal!
