  • 1 stick cinnamon broken into pieces
  • 1 inch ginger root peeled and sliced thinly
  • 1/4 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey adjust to taste

Preparation
  1. Place the black tea bag or loose leaf black tea in a small teapot or French press and set it aside for later use.
  2. In a small pot, combine the broken cinnamon pieces, sliced ginger, whole cloves, and water. Set the pot over medium-high heat and bring to a simmer. Allow it to simmer gently for 3 minutes to infuse the water with warm spice flavors.
  3. Carefully pour the hot water and spice mixture over the tea in the teapot or French press. Let it steep for 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea and spice infusion into a mug to remove solids. Stir in fresh lemon juice and honey to taste. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a cinnamon stick if desired.
