Ingredients

Chicken and Coating
  • 1.5 pounds chicken breasts, chopped into bite-size pieces
  • 0.25 cup corn starch
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper
Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter for frying
  • 5-6 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce or sriracha

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • large heavy-duty pan
  • Small bowl

Method

Cooking Process
  1. Pat the chicken pieces dry with a paper towel. In a large bowl, combine the chopped chicken with cornstarch, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat the chicken evenly with the seasoning.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large heavy-duty pan over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, olive oil, honey, lemon juice, soy sauce, and hot sauce until well combined.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked chicken in the pan. Continue cooking for an additional 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  5. Remove from heat and serve immediately over steamed rice, pasta, or with your choice of vegetables.
