Method
Prepare the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Make the Peanut Butter Layer
- In a separate bowl, mix together the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and softened cream cheese until well combined.
- Once the cake is baked and cooled slightly, spread the peanut butter mixture evenly over the top.
Prepare the Chocolate Sauce
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
- Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the peanut butter layer.
Serve
- Allow the cake to set for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
