Preparation
- Chop the sweet apples into bite-sized pieces. Heat 2 teaspoons of coconut oil in a pan over medium-high heat, then add the apples along with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Cover the pan and sauté the apples for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Set your oven to 180°C (350°F) to get it ready for baking the crumble.
Crumble Preparation
- Place oats, pecans, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, and 2 teaspoons of honey in a food processor or blender. Add about 1 tablespoon of water to assist blending. Process until the mixture becomes crumbly and sticks together in larger pieces.
Assembly and Baking
- Lightly oil a small baking pan or line it with parchment paper. Evenly spread the sautéed apples in the pan. Grab portions of the crumble mixture and squeeze together to create bigger chunks, then scatter these pieces evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until the crumble topping turns golden brown and crispy.
- Allow the apple crumble to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy it warm with a splash of milk, a dollop of yogurt, or a scoop of ice cream as a dessert.
