Method
Prepare the Meat Sauce
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Make the Cheese Mixture
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, and parsley. Mix until well combined.
Assemble the Lasagna
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Layer 3 no-boil lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the cheese mixture, and then a layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and remaining meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake the Lasagna
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
