Method
Prepare the Oven and Pan
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream Butter and Sugars
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
Add Eggs and Vanilla
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Mixtures
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Add Chocolate Chips
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Bake
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
- Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
