Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Mix-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream Butter and Sugars
  1. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
Add Eggs and Vanilla
  1. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Add Chocolate Chips
  1. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Bake
  1. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
