Ingredients
  

Breadstick Dough
  • 1 cup warm water 110°F
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Cheese Filling
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Topping
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon parsley chopped

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Bones
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Cut the dough into bone shapes using a knife or pizza cutter.
  4. Place a small amount of cheese filling in the center of each bone shape and fold the edges over to seal.
Bake the Breadsticks
  1. Brush the tops of the breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle with sea salt and parsley.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
