Ingredients
  

Caramel Sauce
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream warm
Apple Filling
  • 2 medium apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Whipped Cream Topping
  • 1 cup heavy cream cold
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Serving
  • 4 each caramel apple dessert cups

Method
 

Prepare Caramel Sauce
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns a golden brown color, stirring constantly.
  2. Add the butter and stir until melted and combined.
  3. Slowly pour in the warm heavy cream while stirring continuously until smooth.
Make Apple Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine diced apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Mix well.
Prepare Whipped Cream
  1. In a mixing bowl, whip the cold heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
Assemble Dessert Cups
  1. In each dessert cup, layer the apple filling, followed by a generous drizzle of caramel sauce.
  2. Top with whipped cream and additional caramel sauce if desired.
