Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter brown butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Prepare the Brown Butter
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and continue cooking until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Transfer the brown butter to a mixing bowl and let it cool to room temperature.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Combine Wet Ingredients
  1. Once the brown butter has cooled, add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the bowl and whisk until combined.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  2. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Bake the Cookies
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
