Ingredients

Puff Pastry
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed if frozen
Brie Cheese
  • 1 wheel Brie cheese about 8 ounces
Egg Wash
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water
Optional Toppings
  • 2 tablespoons honey for drizzling
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit such as cranberries or apricots

Method

Prepare the Oven and Puff Pastry
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth out creases.
Wrap the Brie
  1. Place the Brie cheese in the center of the puff pastry.
  2. Fold the pastry over the cheese, trimming any excess, and seal the edges by pressing them together.
Apply Egg Wash
  1. Mix the beaten egg with water to create an egg wash.
  2. Brush the egg wash over the wrapped Brie to give it a golden color when baked.
Bake the Brie
  1. Transfer the wrapped Brie to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  2. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with nuts and dried fruit if desired before serving warm.
