  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ⅔ cup pumpkin puree (blotted)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (for icing)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves (for icing)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (for icing)
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cream room temperature butter with white and brown sugars until fluffy.
  4. Blot pumpkin puree to remove excess moisture.
  5. Mix in egg, maple syrup, and blotted pumpkin until combined.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until fully combined.
  7. Fold in half of the chopped pecans.
  8. Drop tablespoon-sized dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 13-15 minutes until set but soft in the center.
  10. Cool cookies on a rack while preparing icing.
  11. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and cloves until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies and sprinkle remaining pecans.
