  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (preferably full-fat)
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground chicken, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, parsley, mint, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the egg and gently combine until just mixed.
  3. Shape into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs (about 20 total).
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook meatballs in batches for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  5. For the tzatziki sauce, mix together Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (squeezing out excess water), garlic, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.
  6. Chill tzatziki for at least 15 minutes before serving alongside the meatballs.
