  • 1 cup heavy cream (or whole milk)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a medium-sized baking dish.
  2. Slice Yukon gold potatoes thinly (about 1/16th of an inch).
  3. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat; add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in flour to create a roux, then gradually add heavy cream while stirring until thickened (about 5 minutes).
