  • 2 cups slivered almonds (or other nuts)
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Pop the corn according to package instructions and place it in a large bowl.
  2. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, light corn syrup, salt, and unsalted butter. Cook over medium heat until it melts and boils; stir continuously for even texture.
  3. Once boiling, let it cook without stirring for about 4-5 minutes until golden.
  4. Remove from heat; add vanilla extract and baking soda (it will bubble).
  5. Pour the caramel sauce over the popped corn; quickly toss in slivered almonds.
  6. Spread on baking sheets lined with parchment paper and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 30-40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
